Thankfully all is well after my deep plane smas and eye lift and a few other things. A general set of questions I do not see answered on this amazing forum are of a academic nature. And other may be as interested as I am. That is, when the SMAS is repositioned there is a lot of tension on this SMAS. How mechanically is that held into place? Yes, I know with stitches, but to what? How wide an area is stitched? How careful should one be to avoid detaching the SMAS? Is facial massage ok?
Im in my mid-30s; inherited moms recessive chin and fat cheeks. Had a chin implant and neck liposuction done 7-10 years ago with the goal of getting a more defined jawline and visible chin (w/o looking like a witchs chin). Was a smidge happy, but should have done more research. Im interested in doing an SMAS neck/face life with buccal fat removal. Do you think thatd be more appropriate for my situation? What about genioplasty?
I had face and neck lift 5 years ago. I have been across the country to many specialists; mayo clinic, Johns Hopkins, Columbia University hospital in NY city. At first we thought it was in the periphearl nerves, but now after recentlt seeing a periphearl nerve specialist in DC he does not believe it is in the nerves, but rather SMAS, plystmas muscle was over treated. I have severe tightness in my temple area, lower cheeks, and into the jawline, with red flushing in cheeks and jawline. Help!
I had a SMAS facelift and neck lift, and SMAS lip augmentation. I now cannot open my mouth as wide as I did previously and going to the dentist is really an ordeal . I also cannot drink from a straw any more. What has gone wrong . I had the surgery 18 months ago . I am 52 years old . I also had some face fat transfer and buccal fat removal.
How would one know if the doctor did a deep plane or light smas lifting ? They could say, a deep plane and not be. . How long should the cheek and side of face look lifted, before slowly falling down again ? What should one do in the case it's almost as before, 2 years later ? Thank you.
I hav a face and neck lift less than a year and a half ago. My neck skin is hanging and lower face has a sweep. It started hanging two months after surgery. What did this doctor do or not do? It was a SMAS lift supposedly.
I had SMAS facelift 4 years ago and have had hypersensitivity on my upper right cheek and small area near my mouth when anything touches the area. More recently my lower eyelid on that side feels tingly and cold and afollows the nerve to my upper cheek. Anything that touches my upper cheek I feel along my lower eyelid and sometimes the corner of my upper. I feel as my skin is starting to sag that there is tension on the nerves damaged and I am getting more uncomfortable as time goes by.
