Hi, I am a 25 years old woman interested in ptosis correction surgery. I think it's worth noting that I've had eyes like these since young so they weren't developed over time. I would like to know whether my ptosis is considered medical or only cosmetic in nature.
Hi I had external levator surgery for ptosis on Right eye. After 4 weeks i see the crease is too high and the lid apprears to be still little droppy. Eyes are totally asymmetric What are my option? How do you fix this?Surgery was March 21
I am a 21 yo Asian male; 5 11; 155 lbs. Negative phenylephrine test and external approach on right lid. During op, surgeon advanced levator maximally when lift increase was initially absent. Post-op outcomes: (1) More prominent lid platform; (2) Minimal lift; (3) Contour change. Was the op unsuccessful and outcomes avoidable? Is revision warranted? Which type? Im nervous for a 2nd op, yet I want to manage this due to its psychosocial impact. Is my goal of lid symmetry unrealistic? Thoughts?
For a few years now i have noticed my left eyelid is lower than the right. I dont believe it was always like this (unless it was very subtle to begin with). From minimal research, im not sure if it may be ptosis, extra eyelid skin, or something else. Is there a way to fix this, and what might it be?
Hello! Thank you in advance for the comments/advice! I am a 24 year old male and am insecure about my eyes. My concern specifically is that my eyes seem to be lazy/ droopy . One eyelid droops more than the other especially when I am tired.I also seem to have excess upper eyelid skin. Overall Id like to open my eyes and make them look more symmetrical. Would ptosis surgery (or other procedure) address my concern ? Thanks!!!!
I underwent bilateral levator aponeurosis advancement and upper blepharoplasty in early August 2023. I believe it was overcorrected as my outer upper lids appear retracted and I look like Im staring/glaring. It feels tight but I dont have any issues with closing my eyes, however I question if they slightly open while I sleep because I wake up with a lot of dried eye discharge in the morning. What is your professional opinion on undergoing correction? Will it possibly relax/drop overtime?
I have developed ptosis in my left eye following, I believe, an upper blepharosplaty a year ago. I have seen 2 separate OC surgeons, one recommends Levator advancement, the other Mullerectomy (+ slight upper bleph of the other eye as still quite a bit of excedent skin). How do I know which of the 2 procedures is the right one for me? I also had lower bleph at the same time, as a consequence, have a slight retraction of the lower lid, Should this be fixed before ptosis surgery?
