I use eye drops every day throughout the day. Sometimes my eye pain jolts me out of bed in the middle of the night. They keep burning for at least 20-30 minutes & i cannot lay down as the pressure is too much. My eyes are swollen in the morning when this happens. I'm almost afraid of sleep because this eye pain is as severe as when I was first recovering from PRK. My eyes are not red throughout the day, they just constantly feel dry. Any suggestions are welcome. I am tired of this happening.
I am now 68, had Cataract Surgery Feb 2017 with Silicon lenses. Then 5 months later I had YAG, then March 2018 I had PRK to adjust for wrong lenses Rx +1. Eyes feel like I have a cold, but no. Vision now - Left eye has about a -.25D correction and -.25 astigmatism. Right eye just -.25D. Single vision lenses, so I need +2.0 readers. Vision is pretty good but still need glasses for sharp vision to drive and golf. Glare is with single point lights, Flicker bright lights from side. Steve
I had PRK surgery done to both of my eyes yesterday, March 30th, 2018. My eylids are so swollen and my eyes are burning. I've been using the drops exactly as prescribed. Can I use warm compresses on my eyelids for the swelling?
I had my PRK procedure done exactly one year ago. Every so often they get EXTREMELY dry overnight. On several occasions I've shot out of bed because I get a sudden burning/scraping feeling behind one eye or both. It's then hard to open my eyes, they start to water, eventually I can open them, then sometimes it hurts to close them. Using eye drops often stings and makes it worse. At one point I woke up with extremely painful dry eyes, and there was a small bruise on my eyelid the next morning.
From trying to rinse my face with ONLY water, even the slight fingers going over my eyes hurts. I cannot wear any make-up without crying from it burning my eyes. I am freaking out and feel like my vision is getting worse. I have to use gel drops at night and drops during the day. Is there hope? Will this go away? Are my eyes still healing?
