I had a mole removed from my hand in January 2024. It had bothered me for a while. For completeness the mole was sent for histology which confirmed it was a benign intradermal melancytic naevi I am now 3 months post removal and the area has developed a brown streak in the scar. This has really worried me. It is still less bothersome than the original mole so aesthetically I have no issue. What I am struggling with is whether this pigment is something to be concerned about. Thank you
34 yo female. I had a mole removed from my cheek 3 months ago. It was a shave removal and the dermatologist cauterised the area afterwards. This left a 1x1cm red spot on my face, which has only slightly faded. I kept the wound moist and covered for 2-3 weeks, and am using Keto-Cote silicone gel and sunscreen everyday to prevent further pigmentation/scarring. What can I do to help minimise the redness? How long will it take to heal? I am fair/light skinned and tend to keloid on my back/shoulders.
I got a big and raised facial mole removed on 14 August this year. The doctor cut the mole out and I got the stitches removed 7 days later. I avoided sun exposure and I used Contractubex twice a day. Now nearly three months later, the scar is still very visible and very dark. I really feel embarrassed in front of people and I always try to hide it, which is impossible. My confidence really went down and I just wish that it will fade. Does it look normal and can I do something about the darkness?
I recently had a mole removed on my shoulder (3 months ago) it is healed up but now I feel a round lump right under where the scar is. Is this normal or should I contact my dermatologist? The pathology on the mole came back inconclusive for any cancer but now that this bump has formed it kind of concerns me.
Three months post-op (shave removal) my scar has improved significantly. My only concern is that there's now a very very small dark speck in the center of the scar. You can barely see it unless you look really close, but I'm afraid that this is a sign that the mole will grow back. However, I was unable to wear sunscreen for a few days so it might be from sun damage. Should i get it checked out?
I had 3 moles dry freezed using liquid nitrogen. The GP did the procedure twice as the moles did not fall off. Even after the second attempt cryotheraphy didn't work, so the GP shaved them off. However, after more than 3 months I still have brown burnt-like skin around the moles area -this is coming from the liquid nitrogen. It looks disgusting. Will it ever go away?
It was above lip near right nasolabial fold. Monocryl was used under the skin. First 1-2 weeks incision was VERY red and inflamed. 2.5 weeks after the mole removal I began having mild hives all over. At first I was also having flushing of the right cheek and watering of right eye. Saw allergist for extensive blood workup, everything normal. Skin prick just showed allergy to beef and lamb. Still have hives. Sutures still VERY palpable under the skin. Should I have them removed?
I had a mole removed about 3 months ago and I had taken pictures one week after and it had pigment left behind while it was healing. I got the call and told the mole was not cancerous so i put it off, now I am seeing pigment pop up and started freaking out if this is normal from a shave biopsy or it was possible melanoma. Here are the photos from a week after the biopsy and now.
I had a mole excision on my face next to my lip about three months ago. The surgeon advised the dog years from the surgery should go down, she advised she's never had a case where they haven't. She also mentioned mentioned typically after three months I should see a dramatic improvement. So far, I haven't. The surgeon advised she would not make any revisions until one years time, however I'm really self-conscious about it. What is the likelihood of them going down in a year if they look this?
