I had a second IPL treatment on my face a month ago and my face looked fine until this past Monday - my face was very dry and irritated - red around cheeks, nose, chin, and mouth. I looked closer in the mirror and noticed parts of my face had dark areas and appeared to be demarcation when in fact these dark areas of skin on my face was dead pigment that had not peeled off as of yet. Would this dead pigment be completely off if I had started exfoliating every day one week after treatment? Thank you.
Wondering if anybody has suggestions. I had an IPL session on my face two weeks ago. A few days after I started getting little bumps all over my face and some acne spots. This is my 4th treatment and have had no issues before other than the dark spots getting darker. I only exfoliated a week after and now my skin is horribly broken out in bumps and redness and pimples. The treatment office hasnt seen a reaction like this. I did fly a transatlantic flight the next day and not sure if that made a difference with dryness etc. what can I use to calm this down?!
After treatment I got red stripes on one side of my face that overnight turned to brownish. I feel no pain or ever did, wondering if the stripe skin will just exfoliate off? Stopped by my dermatologist center that did the treatment and the PA said looked great, I should see good results and striping was normal. Hoping this is the case and this is only temporary.
the doctor that performed the treatment gave me a exfoliating kit to move the process along but I am attending an event and need this cleared up quickly. can I get an IPL 9 days after fractional treatment. IPLs usually knocks out any breakout or is it too soon after this fractional laser treatment
I tried IPL first with no success. I had ablative laser done on my chest to remove freckles/pigmentation roughly 9 days ago. They first bled from the laser and then quickly crusted up. Applied bactroban to the open wounds, dermasone and cetaphil moisturiser & bio oil to keep it moist. There is no real peeling as such. Do I exfoliate it or wait?
I have PIH and use AHA/Differin w/ improvement on a regular basis. I tried 4% hydroquinone w/ minimal success (x3 months) and suggested an IPL. Should I stop using Differin/other exfoliants prior to my session and for how long? Also, I understand HQ preps the skin and can be good before an IPL. To my knowledge, HQ should be used in cycles (3 months on and 3 months off) to prevent paradoxal hyperpigmentation. I have not used HQ for x2 months, should I start using it again prior to my session?
