I had my 1st IPL a while back for my freckles & 2 hrs later my freckles immediately looked like pepper & they peeled off 7 days later. Yesterday I had 2nd treatment w/ increased settings but spots did not pepper like last time. They just got darker but not flaky. Does that mean it didnt work?
I've noticed since high school that my skin has gotten significantly darker (senior year high school) since I was a child (baseball). Despite avoiding the sun, exfoliating, and applying spf 50 I haven't been able to go back to my olive skin tone. If there a way Pico laser, IPL, or any surgical method help revert my skin back to my natural skin tone that I was born with? Thank you in advance!
I tried five IPL treatments (at two different centers) for the removal of age spots on my face. I had no results.... in fact, the spots are now much darker than when I started! What would be the best option for me to try next? The treatments were fairly aggressive, with redness, swelling and a burning sensation for about 3 days after each treatment.
I have had a few successful IPL treatments in the past for facial sun damage, with typical darkening of spots and subsequent flaking (have Type II skin). After this treatment, I have one area near the mouth that is slightly oozing. Other spots are redder and look like telangiectasia. I am concerned about length of healing time and whether or not I need to see my dermatologist. I am currently applying Bacitracin to the oozing/more raw areas and Vaseline everywhere. Any advice is appreciated.
I had 8 seesions IPL on my upper lip for hair removal purposes only. (fair asian skin, dark hair). I had good results, after the last session on 6 OCT 2011, the next day I noticed darkening of my upper lip, I have only used aloe vera gel (can't get hydroquinine in UK it is illegal) now 1 month later the area is still SLIGHLTY darker, will this resolve with time? what should I do? I wear sunscreen every day and DO NOT want to have any more IPL sessions.
