Hi! Im 59 about 300 lbs. my BMI is high enough so I dont need the co-morbidities. but I also have prediabetes, PCOS, pseudotumor, metabolic syndrome, and fatty liver. Im only 21. I am stuck between surgery and wegovy. I hear wegovy isnt long term as when you stop it you may gain the weight back. Surgery is expensive and id have to give up a lot of things for life. Id prefer the meds. Ive included pics and measurements. Whats a better option for me?
Hi! I'm 21 and I'm 5'10, 305lbs. Thyroidectomy due to cancer/hashimotos 01/2022. Also have prediabetes/PCOS. I was big my entire life, until 2020 when I dropped from 230 to 140lbs during covid. From 01/2022 to now I've risen to 305 (gained 160 pounds!) and I'm miserable. Was considering lapbands before learning the dangers. Now stuck between sleeve and bypass. I'm also on victoza and want to explore other GLP-1s but they aren't covered :(. I'm beginning to save and don't know what's best for me!
Hi . My bmi is 27.8,147lbs and with hypertension and high cholesterol. I have been consulted with 3 different surgeons and I was qualified for sleeve surgery. So my question now is Am I gonna lose too much weight and is it still safe for me to have the surgery?
I am worried that my old surgical scar will be in the way where they have to laproscopic do the gastric sleeve the cut is about an inch above and an inch below my belly botton I weigh 350 and I I know I can really benifit from the gastric sleeve thanks
I am 250 lb's with hypertension, pre diabetic and slightly blood pressure. Few month ago, I found out that I hav fibroids (multiple) my Gyno recommended hysterectomy surgery but I would like to know if it's possible these two surgery can be done at the same time. Also, there is a way to have hysterectomy done without a major surgery (removal of uterus) does this type of surgery covered by insurance?
I am 38 year old and my BMI is 28, all of my fat is located in my stomach, back and arms. Is there any weight loss surgery I qualify for? I tried the obera ball 2 years ago, however I had to have it removed early because the ball started to expand inside my stomach due to my extremely slow metabolism.
I'm in the bariatric surgery weight loss process. I have completed the blood test and undergoing my 3rd waiting. However I am still nervous about proceeding with the surgery itself. The surgery is not reversible and I am uncomfortable knowing 80% of my stomach will be removed. Is it standard in gastric sleeve to remove 80% stomach? Is it possible to negotiate to request to remove 50% of your stomach?
I did all the test needed to get approval for the Sleeve Gastric surgery but,my doctor ask me Not to smoke cigarettes 30 days before the surgery but,I couldn't help it (I've been smoking for 25yrs)and I seriously cut down to like 4 cigarettes a day,I didn't tell him and my surgery is in a week, I also have severe sleep apnea, I really worried something could go wrong because of the smoking! Please give me your advice on what to do.Thank you..
