There is still pus coming out from the area, but my periodontist, my endodontist and primary care dentist can't find the source. The pus is very little they say. The caries on the front tooth was just treated. The periodontist did an incision to clean the reappearing pus. I have an appointment to get a second opinion by a periodontist in 12 days, but worry that the infection could spread into my body or further into the jaw bone. Should I wait for my appointment, it try to be seen ASAP.
My upper front tooth broke at the gum line 15 years ago. I had root canal, a metallic post and a crown built. Now I have a pocket of pus under my gum (high) that I feel when I press. The tooth became sensitive to pressure and I took antibiotics that relieved the symptoms. My dentist told me that the tooth is fractured bellow the gum line and has to be removed. I am away for a month, can I take antibiotics to prevent infection from re-occurring/spreading and extract it on return. Thank you.
The wound has been present for around a week or two and majority of the pus is out. Wound is getting better but is still there. When i bite down on that tooth, there is a slight pain and the crown moves (slightly) when i wiggle it around. I dont know whether the wound is making my tooth ache or if my root canal and crown are decaying or infected. The pain is not always present when clenching my jaw but it does hurt when i eat or just randomly.
I recently had to have a tooth extracted due to an abscess. I was started on antibiotics. I wanted an implant and had it placed the same day I had the extraction. The X-RAY showed a huge pocket of pus and my roots of my molar were very close to my sinus, causing my recurrent sinus infections. I felt relief almost immediately. Now six months later after I recieved my crown, again, my sinus infections are back. Is it my teeth or my sinuses? Should I see an ENT?
