I hav had 1 crown( front tooth) over 15 years. It was still look good. Last year I decided to have my 10 teeth veneers, so the dentist replaced the old crown to the new one together with other 9 porcelain veneers. The fixed of the front veneers didn't look right so he had to remove the new set of 6 front teeth( including the crown) to put another new set on. You can amazing what my real teeth and been suffering. 6 months later as it yesterday, my crown has broken off right on the gum lines.
I have central upper tooth with crown. At attempt was made to probe to measure the space under the gum. dentist was unable to insert the instrument because the edge of the crown was sitting on top of the gum. Advised that it will need to be replaced. What are the risks of keeping the crown as it is (on top of gum)? What is this issue technically called?
I cracked my left second molar on my upper jaw while eating. It cracked to the gum line. My dentist said that the best option is to place a crown not a filling. I'm a 27 year old male and have never needed any dental work done, I've not had any major cavities so I'm feeling a bit self conscious that I need a crown on my tooth at this young of an age and I'm hoping this doesn't mean my teeth are on their way out. Is it rare for people my age to have any crowns in their mouth?
Hello, I had a crown lengthening procedure for cosmetic reasons five days ago. Immediately after the procedure it was slightly swollen but the gumline did not look rounded it looks like a shark fin. I was concerned but the doctor said it was good. Five days later the shape is still the same and I am worried that this is now the permanent shape of my gumline. There is a picture attached and the stitches are still in place. As my gum heels will the shape change and be more rounded, is this normal?
The back of one of my front tooth has broken at the very bottom (past the gum line). I had a tongue ring a while back and my dentist explained that as a result of me rubbing it against the back of my teeth where my gums covered the roots - my gums have receeded. Now, one of my teeth has chipped and theres a space between where my tooth now begins and what gum that is left. Is there anything that can be done about this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Recently my dentist said #12 root canal failed. Endodontist said #12 needs apioectomy and did root canal on #13. Week after that, crown breaks on #12. Dentist puts on temp crown. Week after that #13 breaks off at gumline. Dentist puts in post and temp crown, charges me for post. This was yesterday. I've had a terrible headache ever since. Also, tonight I had some beef and the 2 temporary crowns came out. Should I see a new dentist? What is normal protocol? Do you think the headache is related?
Three of my crowned front broke off at the gum line today. I'm confused about what to do and I have no idea what procedure I should be looking at when I go to the dentist Monday. I have blue Cross blue shield dental insurance but I am a 60 year old female on a fixed income. What kind of price range and I looking at. Any information on this topic would greatly be appreciated. Confused in Memphis TN.
I had a root canal done about a year ago under a crowned front tooth. The underlying tooth began darkening and showing through. I had it internally bleache twice but continued to darken. I went to a cosmetic dentist who replaced the crown and tried to mask the underlying tooth. He replaced the crown but the gum line is still dark. So after spending 1000s of dollars on a new crown I am back to square 1. I am very disappointed and trying to figure out what to do next.
1 tooth is crooked, he caked on the material on my gumline in front and behind teeth.he left a gap in between my teeth and you can see it jagged and rough. I'm not sure what to do at this point and its causing me anxiety. Is this how temporary crowns are supposed to look? What should I do? Should I have the permanent crowns done by another dentist?
My dentist said that she kept a little gap on the back of the crown so it will be easier to clean under the gum line. Its not noticeable but I can feel the edge of the crown if I touch it by my tongue. Is this normal? She said she learned that in dental school. But I thought the crow is supposed to cover the whole teeth to protect it.
