Hi. I had a root canal on my front tooth 10 years ago and now it's quite discolored. I'm about to get a porcelain crown, but am hesitant if it would be the best approach. Should I just leave the discolored tooth alone? I'm not too confident with any of the dentists here on Dublin because it's hard to find information regarding their skills. Also, on occassion, I've seen people with black, darkened lines in between their gums and teeth. Are they cause by Crown or Veneer, may I ask? Any views?
I recently got a new crown on tooth #7 (it had a root canal done to it before, a lot of the tooth was damaged. After my first crown the finished product looked dark and gray once he demented it. This was an all porcelain crown. I went back and he said we need to red-so it and use zarcomium?? I just got the second crown in a month in a half and it is still all dark and looks really bad. Now he is telling me I need an implant. Does anyone know why the crown keeps turning dark on the whole tooth.
I had a crown placed on a live tooth roughly a year ago. I just noticed the gum darkening between the crown and the surrounding teeth. I had my cleaning and exam three weeks ago but didnt notice it at that time to ask the dentist. Is this cause for concern?
I recently had a root canal on my front tooth because it was knocked out. My dentist told me it will likely darken over time and said she would use a zirconia crown since it will block out the darkened tooth. I've read they're very opaque and not ideal for front teeth. Is this standard for a front tooth with a root canal? Or can a porcelain crown cover a tooth well even IF it does darken? I hate to question the skills of the dentist and lab but I've read porcelain is commonly used for front teeth.
I chipped my front tooth previously and they put a filling on it. It lasted for years and it chipped off yesterday. Went in and they told me a crown is recommended. They had limited colors for the resin and my temporary crown is lighter than the rest of the other front teeth. Not happy, can I darken it someway?
A few years ago I had my teeth bleached and I had crowns placed on my four front teeth to match. (Removed existing crowns) now it seems like my crowns and teeth have yellowed a bit. I know that crowns can not be lightened. However, I thought they couldn't be stained. If they can be stained, can they return to original color?
My boyfriend has a ceramic crown on a front tooth, he is 27 has been smoking for seven years and is a white male but his gums are turning a light black color, what does this mean? They are blackened everywhere except for a little above his teeth
