They will use a special instrument called a dermatoscope to really analyze your mole and determine if it needs a biopsy or removal. Removal of a mole like this is quite simple - usually just a little bit of local anesthetic and a shave removal, which will be sent to the pathologist for microscopic analysis. Don't worry, just go see a professional and someone with special expertise and board certification in skin. Dermatologists do shave biopsies every day and will take good care of you. Best of luck!
