I have heard from a couple of testimonies that after you get a forehead lift, also known as a "surgical hairline", you start losing your hair dramatically...why does this happen? Was the candidate not good for this procedure?
Answer: Hair loss and forehead lift You are absolutely right, that the history of forehead lifts have been fraught with a possible complication of hair loss, especially if the incision is made inside the hairline. That is why I personally prefer to do a pre-tracheal approach and a limited incision approach, to be able to completely avoid any damage to the hair follicles. I ask you to please seek this option with your providers, since it is an excellent way to get the results you desire without the loss of hair.

Answer: Hair loss and forehead lift surgery Incisions are placed behind the hairline to help camouflage them and to allow hair to re-grow through the scar. With careful placement, I try to minimize the chance of hair loss. However, any time that an incision is made in the hairline, hair loss is a potential risk.

Answer: Hair Loss After Forehead Lift Thank you for your question. This can happen, but is usually temporary, and seems to return to a previous status if hair sparing techniques are used. I hope this helps!

Answer: Do you have hair loss after Forehead Lift? I have never seen dramatic hair loss after forehead or brow lift. If incisions are placed improperly or handled carelessly "alopecia" or incisional hairloss can occur but this is very uncommon. Incision placement is dictated by the degree of brow droop and the position of the hairline. In the vast majority of cases, there should be no hair loss following a brow or forehead lift. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
