It’s been 6 months. I had buccal fat removal and a chin implant. If it’s swelling will steroid injections help? If not, what are the options to fix this? It made me cry the other day since it looks so mannish compared to my old chin - it looks great from the side but straight on I hate it. Could it be residual swelling?
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Chin implant: what you should know Thank you for your question and photos. I’m sorry that you’re unhappy with your chin implant results. Since much of the swelling is reduced three months after surgery, the appearance of your implant is unlikely to change. You may require revision surgery to alter, remove, or replace your current chin implant to create a more ideal face shape. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to review your surgical history and discuss your concerns with you to help you decide on the best course of action.

Answer: Chin implant At this point, it is not likely that swelling is causing the problem. If you are unhappy with the results, the implant can be removed and replaced with a smaller implant. The other option is removal of the implant and a sliding genioplasty. I find that larger implants in women tend to increase the width and make the appearance more masculine. Sometimes a custom implant is better.

Answer: Chin Implant Revision Hello! Thank you for your question. In my opinion this implant is too big for you. You have a thin face. From front it looks a bit masculine, the implant your surgeon used is too big. I need to know if your implant has wings or not to make a better evaluation. You may need a chin implant exchange surgery, with a smaller implant that would fit your face better.

Answer: Chin implant Hello ! It's possible that residual swelling could be contributing to your dissatisfaction with the appearance of your chin after your buccal fat removal and chin implant surgery. Steroid injections may be helpful in reducing swelling and inflammation, but this is something that should be discussed with your surgeon. It's important to keep in mind that it can take several months to see the final results of these procedures, and swelling can persist for some time. However, if you are still unhappy with the appearance of your chin after the swelling has subsided, there are other options that may be worth considering. One option is to have a revision surgery to address any remaining issues with the appearance of your chin. This would involve discussing your concerns with your surgeon and working together to develop a plan for how to address them. Another option is to try non-surgical treatments to address any remaining concerns. This could include dermal fillers to add volume or reshape the chin, or Kybella injections to reduce excess fat in the area. It's important to speak with your surgeon about your concerns and discuss all of your options before making a decision. They may be able to offer additional guidance or recommend other treatments based on your individual needs and goals. Best of luck !
