I had a Tummy Tuck 2 years ago and now in need of abdominal hysterectomy. Will this surgery interfere with the tummy tuck other than the scar? I'm afraid it will mess with my ab muscles that were tightened during the tuck.

Having the hysterectomy after the tummy tuck will probably not interfere with the result. But, you should go over it with both surgeons.

Hysterectomy after Tummy Tuck

There should not be a problem having a hysterectomy after undergoing a tummy tuck. Yiou stated that it was to be performed via an abdominal incision. Gynecologists typically use a low incision which conforms to your abdominoplasty scar. In my experience, gynecologists usually obtain very good scars with this incision. Your muscle will have to be divided, but this will be done very low and should not interfere with your previous repair.

The results from a tummy tuck should be permanent, as long as you do not become pregnant or gain a significant amount of weight. A hysterectomy may be done through a scope (laparoscopic), open (a low transverse or midline incision), or vaginally (no skin incisions).
