Asymmetry of the inner aspects of the eye, called the medial
canthus, generally require significant craniofacial reconstructive surgery to
create a more aesthetic appearance, both in height and width. In general, the medial canthal tendon – the
dense collagenous structure that holds the upper and lower lid tarsal and
canthal structures to the side wall of the nose by a bony attachment – must be
elevated and a new bony attachment secured through wire suture fixation. This kind of complex surgery should only best
be performed by a craniofacial surgeon with experience in adult craniofacial
trauma, medial canthal tendon and nasal orbital injuries. In Toronto, one of the best individuals for
