Hi Doctors, I am considering to have an IPL facial (probably 3-4 sessions) to help with some redness and sun damage, but I have recently started using Minoxidil for beard growth (which I know is not 'officially' supported by Minoxidil, but several anecdotal evidence exists). My question is; if I have an IPL (or Fractional Laser) on my face, is there a possibility it may affect my beard growth (using Minoxidil). I ask because I understand IPL and laser can also be used for hair removal.

Thanks for your question, but they are doing it wrong! We never use numbing cream when treating vascular issues. Numbing creams tend to constrict the blood vessels that are supposed to be treated with an IPL. I hope this helps.
Yes this is an IPL burn. If you take care of it by keeping your skin hydrated and avoiding any sun exposure over the next week then you will be able to minimize any scarring.
