I'm about 4 1/2 months post op. I had small breasts to begin with and had a lift which I really liked the results of the first 3 months or so. Now it seems they are starting to migrate downwards and look saggy again. I'm really worried as I spent almost 10k on this and do not want to have to find another doctor to re-do this. I do not want implants, I just want perky deardrop shaped breasts.
Answer: Did my breast lift fail? No, your lift did not fail. I believe you had a misconception regarding the lift, or it wasn't explained or understood well. Your breasts settled to where the "foot print" of your breast is. You can best see this on your preop photo. The top of your breast on the chest wall, is where you see the indentation if you would draw a line from the armpit to the lateral border of the breast. To raise the "foot print" you can have an implant placed (which you do not favor) or have fat grafting to the upper poles of your breasts and pectoralis major muscles. Talk to your surgeon if he/she is experienced with fat graft techniques to the breasts or seek a second opinion. Good luck.

Answer: Aesthetic expectations and mastopexy or breast lift. For the time being I don't think there's any problem. The position of the areola is fine and the distance from the areola to the crease appears to be the proper length.

Answer: Did my breast lift fail? Thank you for your question. Your breast lift did not "fail". Your breasts look significantly better now than they did before your surgery. Your nipples have been elevated to a more youthful level. You do not need to worry that your breasts are going to drop back down to where they were before surgery but you do need to accept the fact that gravity will always cause the breast volume to fill the bottom portion of the breasts unless you get a job on a space station. If you do not want implants then you need to be satisfied with what your result and use a push up bra to get the look of more upper pole fullness. The only other option to consider would be fat injection to add volume to the upper poles of your breasts.

Answer: Expectations Given the volume of breast tissue, expecting perky breasts by simply repositioning the areolas and excising some excess skin may have been unrealistic. I would not call this a failure, as I see a rather dramatic improvement in breast and areolar position. A minor touch up might improve the scar on the left side (assuming this is not a mirror photo), but a nice result. If you want more projection, you well need to consider implants or fat grafting. All the best.
