Answer: Mole removal expert - pregnancy Technically, mole removal during pregnancy is the same procedure as when not pregnant. However, most plastic surgeons will defer any elective procedure (unless there is a suspicion for cancer) until after pregnancy. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles

Answer: #MoleRemoval - during pregnancy It is possible to remove moles during pregnancy. Most doctors would recommend that you use only lidocaine (ie, no epinephrine or adrenaline - which is used to constrict blood vessels and decrease bleeding but which risks putting undue stress on your child). However, I normally prefer to avoid elective procedures like this until you're finished your pregnancy. It's a different story, of course, if a mole is worrisome - if it has changed in appearance, is bleeding, if there was a suspicious biopsy report, etc. In that case it it appropriate to have it removed.Coordinate care between your dermatologist and your obstetrician to determine the best course for you.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of #RealSelf100
