Restylane under eyes can last one year, sometimes more

Behrooz Torkian, MD answers: Restylane for under eyes

How long does Restylane under the eyes last? Is the procedure done in one or two treatments for this area?

I have found that restylane lasts longer than a year in some of my patients.

In general, I tell my patients to expect a touch up at about 9 months. However, most patients end up not needing a touch up, or any further injection until approximately one year.

I have also noted that there is less swelling with Restylane than other hyaluronic acid products in this area.

Good luck.

A: Restylane for under eye area

Restylane in the under eye area usually lasts longer than in the nasolabial fold region, usually in the order of 8 months in my experience.

The under eye area is very delicate, and the main risk is for lumipness or prolonged swelling. While it seems Juvederm is more prone to causing this swelling, Restylane can cause it as well.

Experienced injectors are very cautious when injecting around the lower eyelid.
