I am a 24 year old woman who, from early childhood and until recently, wore shoes that were 1-2 sizes to small. This has caused a lot of trouble over time, and as you can see from the pictures, my big toenails were so ingrown I had to had them permanently removed. Now I wear fake toenails. But my worst problem, which is both unsightly and causing me a lot of pain, are the lumps of cartilage tissue that have formed on the outer side of my big toe joints. Can this simply be removed?
