Is it common for cheek implants to be rejected by the body? (Photo)

Two months ago I got large malar shell cheek implants. The left side looks and feels great. The right side is larger, and uncomfortable, but not swollen. I also have some drainage in my mouth. My doctor claims there is no infection but that my body is trying to reject this implant. He wants to remove it and eventually inject fat in that cheek. Is this my only or best option? I'm afraid the cheeks will look different from each other if I go this route but the cheeks need to be closer in size.
