I got my 3rd ipl hair removal almost 3 weeks ago;and developed a red bumpy itchy rash all over my legs that were treated. Now the itchiness has calmed down, but I am left with very rough skin, and full of ugly red spots. Ive been religiously applying aloe vera gel to my legs, but it doesnt seem to help much. im afraid that the red dots will stay there permanently. is there anything i can do to improve this? Is this a normal reaction after ipl hair removal?

This is most likely a coincidence that your period falls around your laser schedule every 4-6 weeks. Rest assured the laser is not causing your cycle to start. If you figure up you cycle and see that it isnt on track with your hair removal schedule and are concerned, consult with your gynecologist.
Thank you for your question. This sharp feeling should improve each time you get a treatment done. Since you are shaving between treatments to maintain the area, you are cutting the hair off in the middle of the follicle (thickest part). The laser targets the pigment and destroys that follicle...
The heat from the laser can cause a burn and hyperpigmentation. I would let the clinic know so they can adjust the settings on the laser for your next treatment. Continue using the aloe and it should go away after some time. Make sure to use SPF every day.
