I thought cutera laser genesis was supposed to be without damage or downtime. I am horrified with the purple marks left on my cheeks and nose. My doctor said it is due to the iron leaking from the larger telangiectasias that were pulsed by the laser. I am also experiencing a mild fever and extreme fatigue. Please tell me what you know about this as my cosmetic doctor will not admit what is going on, but says they will be dissolved in a few days.
Answer: Treatment for broken blood vessels Based on your photo, you look as if you had a treatment with the YAG laser directly against your skin to treat broken blood vessels. There is always some bruising and spottiness after this treatment and will resolve with time. It will probably take a couple of weeks. Laser Genesis doesn't ever touch the skin. Hope this helps.

Answer: Bruising After Yag Treatment of Telangiectasias Your photo has the typical appearance of a direct YAG laser which targets "broken blood vessels" and is absorbed by the hemoglobin in red blood cells which burst causing the temporary bruise. This typically fades away in a week or two.

Answer: How best to treat the broken blood vessels after Laser Genesis? Did the Cutera laser head touch your skin or was it waived over your skin? If the Yag head touched your skin you had a Yag treatment and not a Laser Genesis. Regardless, the pigment released from your capillaries will need time to get absorbed and disappear. You may or may not require an IPL treatment to help clear the pigments from your skin. Be patient, you may have had an excellent Cutera Yag treatment for your capillaries. Best of luck. Answer: Small blood bursts after "Laser Genesis" Let me backtrack a bit here. You had treatment with the YAG portion of the Cutera, which means the treatment head itself, which is a YAG laser, was up against the skin. This targets the vein much harder, causing it to burst and drain and be absorbed. Laser Genesis is the same energy but it is displaced on the skin differently and merely swiped over the skin and across it. Nothing touches the skin. So you didn't have "Laser Genesis" which yes, does not have downtime. You had YAG laser, which does have downtime. Laser Genesis helps very superficial red veins but not telangiectasias like you had. Those have to be targeted much harder and deeper with a laser right on there. They will go down, they will be absorbed by the body soon. But I'm sorry that what was done was not explained better to you.... "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion.
