Answer: Volumizing Fillers Are The Treatment of Choice For Deep Nasolabial Folds Unfortunately, despite the marketing hype to the contrary, there are currently no creams, lotions, or serums that can take care of deep folds. At best, prescription strength retinoids, like Retin A and alpha hydroxyacids, like glycolic acid, can help for fine lines--when used regularly for months.A volumizing filler is the way to go for nonsurgically treating a deep nasolabial fold. My filler preference in my Upper East Side Manhattan practice would be Radiesse combined with Perlane L. In my Israel satellite facility where a greater number or regulatory agency approved fillers and volumizers are available I would opt for Radiesse combined with Restylane SQ. A treatment generally takes about five minutes to complete and the results typically engender an immediate "Wow!" response. So, if the problem is only a nasolabial fold, even in a young person such as yourself, forget the creams and lotions, and seek consultation with a board certified aesthetic physician with experience and expertise in the use of all kinds of injectable fillers and volumizers.

Answer: Retin-A for folds Retin-A is great for the skin! It will stimulate cell turn over and collagen production however; it does not effectively treat nasolabial folds. Retin-A will expedite cell turn over. The rapid cell turn over reduces the number of layers of cells on the skin bringing new healthy skin to the surface. Overtime Retin-A can improve tone, texture, acne, and the appearance of fine lines. The best way to treat a fold is with filler. Without a picture it is difficult to say what might be best for you. If the fold is due to volume loss in the cheek it would be best to treat that area to improve the fold below. Because of your age it may be possible to just treat the line. It is important to consult with a Board Certified Dermatologist to see what the best option for you is. For more information click on link below:

Answer: Retin-A and nasolabial folds In general Retin-A is a great cream to use early on to help to build collagen, even out skin tone, and help texture of the skin and fine lines. Even with consistent Retin-A use at the right potency it can take several months to correct fine lines. However, I would not expect Retin-A to completely reverse or make a visible difference in a deep nasolabial fold. For this you may want to consider a hyaluronic acid dermal filler such as Restylane or Juvederm. With the right injector and correct anesthetic preparation the injections can be relatively painless and can give you immediate improvement!
