How long does it take for teeth colour to settle after whitening? I'm getting one crown fitted on a front tooth that recently had a root canal after injury. I have started the process of whitening the rest of my teeth from my dentist (take-home kit, 22% Opalescence), and I plan to do this for one week (2hrs/day). How many days AFTER teeth whitening is ideal for my dentist to prepare the crown to colour match my newly whitened teeth? I don't want a mismatched crown, they're expensive to replace!

Although I understand your logic, check retractors are not the best alternate. There are two reasons why this is happening. Either your trays are not made correctly because gel should not be able to seep through the top of the trays OR you are over filling the trays.
My suggestions are as follows:check what % gel you have first and foremost. Most people can easily tolerate the normal concentrations. But there are some stronger ones that some people just cannot use.only use a pea size amount of fell in each teeth space.***always wipe gently with a Kleenex in...
