I had 4 lid bleph 9 days ago with laser resurfacing under eyes. Now that the crusty skin has fallen off I am left with two dark pink circles. Should I use lightening treatment or just Acquaphor to soften the skin? How long before it clears up and I can judge bleph results on lower and upper lids? I see a small line under one eye that looks like a partial bag was left, might just be from the laser burn. Does that sound normal? See 1st pic. Next post op is a month away but doc says so far so good.
Answer: Healing after laser and blepharoplasty I tell my patients that the initial healing takes about 10 days- especially when a laser is involved and the full healing takes a few months before you can judge any results. The swelling and redness is always worse by the 3rd and 4th day and this settles down over the next few days. I would suggest you follow up with your surgeon for further healing questions - as for now, its all appropriate for 4 days after your procedure.

Answer: Post Laser / Bleph Hi Poetsjasmine, Nothing looks abnormal in your photos. Redness lasts to varying degrees for different people based on their skin type/color. Keeping the area moist is the most important factor, which you are on top of already. Adding topical vitamin C (cream) has been shown to decrease the degree and duration of redness after CO2 resurfacing. I would suggest adding this in your case. Mark G. Answer: ? red marks under eyes after 4-lid blephs/resurfacing Based on your photos, you seem to be healing appropriately after your procedure. I would stick to using Aquaphor but it's always best to ask your PS if you're not sure. I think it's way too early to say anything about your results. Be patient...time is usually your friend and you want see the final result until 6-12 months postop. Best wishes for a smooth recovery.

Answer: Four lid blepharoplasty with skin resurfacing Hello Poetsjasmine! I know this can be a scary time, so I can appreciate your questions. Dark pink/red is a great result... as we often tell patients "No Red- No Results." The redness turns to dark pink then lighter shades of pink typically over several weeks depending on the intensity of the treatment and your skin type. As tempting as it is to use a lightening cream, I would not until your surgeon gives you the ok. It is too soon to judge your surgical outcome(even with the line). I usually tell patients not to take family photos over the first 6 weeks after surgery, but that I will not make any final judgements for 3-6 months after surgery. Finally I would recommend that you contact your surgeon, because he/she knows your situation since they were involved in your surgery and will be best to be able to advise you. I am sure they would want to hear from you as I would for my own patients. All the best! Dr. Tamboli

Answer: Post op eyelid surgery It is way too early to judge the results of your surgery. What you are experiencing is all part of the normal healing process. It takes 3-6 months to get an idea of what your final results will look like, and you may see some additional improvement for up to a year. In any bilateral surgery, both sides will heal at different rates. I always describe them as cousins, not twins. Make sure to continue to follow up regularly with your surgeon . Be patient, and I bet you will be very happy. Good luck!
