Hi doctors, I just had osteotomy le fort 1 impaction done 3 weeks ago for my gummy smile, although i am loving the result (from 9mm to 2mm). I really want to have a gum contouring done, not to have the gummy smile fixed but because my gums are so uneven. I also broke a little piece of my tooth so i wanted to have some bonding done as well. Can i have those procedures done without jeopardizing my jaw surgery? if so when is the earliest possible? and can i do theme while i have braces? Thanks.

Gum Contouring After Orthognathic Jaw Surgery

The answer is yes to all of your questions. After one month of uneventful healign you should be able to have your gums contoured without any issue. Make sure to have your oral and maxillofacial surgeron ok this and even perform the procedure for you.
