Hello, I have lip implants for 2 years now wih Permalip implants. I was wondering if it's possible to do lip injections or lip fat grafting with those in place. I don't need a lot. Thank you!
Answer: Lip Injections after Permalip Implants Questions26Great question and you will be happy with the answer. Over the past 5-6 years since performing the permalip implant, I usually always place the large implants with great satisfaction by the patients. However, some patients still require additional filling or contouring. Additional fillers can be placed on top of the permalip if more contouring or enlargement is needed. This can be done with both hyaluronic fillers like Juvederm or Silicone oil. Find a surgeon that has experience in this matter and you will be more than satisfied. Good luck.

Answer: Layering dermal fillers or fat grafting Hello, I do not have great experience in adding dermal fillers or fat to lips containing Permalip implants, but I do feel it is acceptable to add additional substances to lips containing Permalip implants. Dermal fillers are likely easier to add but fat is acceptable as well. I would certainly use sterile technique when doing this. I would be very cautious and use sterile technique because you have implants in your lips and infection from manipulation to the lip and implant could cause infection. I like the Permalip implants in general. I think they offer a nice, permanent solution to deflated or smaller lips. They are safe to implant and they can be removed rather easily if the patient is not satisfied. I also believe that one disadvantage is that many patients feel that the Permalip implants are not large enough to give them the look they desire. There are inherent limitations to the procedure. We cannot just use any size implant we want in order to result in a voluptuous lip. If the implant is too large for the given lip, it wont look good or it will extrude. It's just like breast implants. Therefore, the Permalip implant can act as a foundation and a dermal filler or even fat can then be used to build the lip or plump the lip to the desired or aesthetically pleasing form and shape."This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion.
