Does surgical excision hurt?

Surgical excision for moles starts with numbing medicine. This is usually done with injectable lidocaine which does sting. After that, it's usually not a big deal from a pain standpoint. You will have a scar afterwards. We cannot do surgery that does not leave scars. The point is to make the scar as inconspicuous as possible. Modern plastic surgery techniques are generally very successful at disguising scars. Scars can always be revised if they are unacceptable.Good luck. I hope this helps!
