I have 4 weeks from the surgery and my right breast I still can't feel it when I touch it..so I'm getting a bit worry should I get worry? Should I go get it checked now or? The breasts looks fine, scars too, nothing suspicious is just that have been 4 weeks and still not increase feeling in my right breast...how long this could take till I will have normal breast touch feeling? I've read about nerve damage and total nerve damage I hope its not that... ? Please help me with some opinions. Thank you

CONTACT NOW Answer: Numbness post surgery Hello,Increased or lack of sensitivity to the breast is common post surgery which should have been detailed in the risks provided to you ahead of your procedure. At 4 weeks you are still early on in your recovery stages so i would not be too concerned at this point. You will need to allow time for the nerves to settle and return to normal which can take up a year in some cases.You should be seeing your surgeon again at around 6 weeks, it would definitely be worth mentioning to them your concerns at this point so they can monitor your progress.Wishing you all the best with the rest of your recovery.

This is usually temporary and can last up to a year to fully regain sensation on the breast area. There are some patients, however, that experience permanent sensory loss especially on the nipple area. The best course of action would be to wait for the next few months to allow the body to heal and stay in contact with your board certified plastic surgeon as he.she knows your condition best.
