Hello doctors. I underwent liposuction and excision for gynecomastia 3 weeks ago. Right chest looks amazing, but the left nipple is still a little puffy. The part below my left nipple is also soft. My doc told me it was only fat. There is scar tissue to the immediate left of my left nipple. Is the scar tissue causing the puffiness? if not, is there a chance the puffiness can go away without a revision? Can reducing my body fat % help?
Answer: Gyno results It is too early to make judgements about the results. It is normal for scar tissue to develop. It usually feels tight and a little lumpy for the first six weeks and things get softer over the following six weeks. Hang in there.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Question of Revision Needed After 3 Weeks Post-Op BRUISING AND SWELLING: Bruising and swelling are normal and usually increase slightly after the removal of any tape or foam. The bruising will decrease over 3-4 weeks, but may last as long as 6 weeks. The majority of the swelling will be gone within the first 3-4 weeks. However, it may take 6-9 weeks to disappear completely. The compression garment helps reduce the swelling, and the longer it is worn, the more quickly you will heal.NUMBNESS: It is normal to experience numbness around the areola and chest. As your body heals, you may notice random bursts of pain in your chest. This is usually a sign that the numbness is subsiding.LUMPINESS: As you heal, the area may feel “lumpy” and irregular. This, too, decreases with time, and massaging these areas will help soften the scar tissue.ACTIVITIES: If your work keeps you sedentary, you may return whenever you feel up to it. If your work is strenuous, wait until your work activity does not cause pain. Wait at least 4 weeks to begin aerobic exercise. As with all operations, pain and discomfort varies greatly from patient to patient. Generally, one should expect that pain medication will be required for the first several days. Continuing discomfort can last varying amounts of time. The best thing to do in order to receive answers for post-operative healing is to visit your surgeon and have the area examined to make sure that everything is progressing as it should or if any corrections or revisions are needed. At three weeks it is not likely that healing has progressed enough for a revision to be completed, but your own surgeon will have the best answers in response to your case. Good luck.

Answer: Concerns after Gynecomastia Surgery? I am sorry to hear about your concerns after gynecomastia surgery. Your surgeon will always be your best resource for accurate diagnosis, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance. It will be your best interest to allow for at least 3 to 6 months to pass before evaluating the final outcome of the procedure performed. At that point, it will be possible to determine whether any residual "mass" is related to residual breast tissue or maturing scar tissue (or residual swelling...). Treatment of course will vary depending on this diagnosis. Again, key will be close follow-up with your surgeon and ongoing patience once acute complications have been ruled out. Best wishes.

Answer: Gynecomastia - uneven nipples This is way too early to discuss outcomes and certainly scar as you are still healing and scar tissue is only getting started. Give this about 3 months and bring up concerns during your followups with your surgeon. Best Wishes!!

Answer: Too soon to judge One of the hardest things about any kind of cosmetic surgery is waiting for your final results. It takes time for your body to fully heal and for the swelling to subside. I always encourage patients to wait at least 6 months before judging their final results. If, at that point, you still aren't happy then schedule an appointment to speak with your surgeon. Best of luck.
