I have a mole on my nose and want it removed. The plastic surgeon suggests excision but also warns that my nose may become asymmetrical as a result. Shaving it off may or may not leave a scar but at least my nose would not be asymmetrical, (even though the mole is more likely to return)! I don't want to wait because it may get bigger and that would be even harder to fix. I need advice to help me decide ... Help! !!!

Any surgery can leave a mark, some heal better than others. I frequently do either laser or radiowave removal of moles with no scars or shave removal with laser. I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist with expertise in scars and mole removal. Best, Dr. Emer.
