I had Lipo almost 6 weeks ago ( I did love handles stomachs an back ) why? Does my sides feel like they are on fire!

Answer: Burning after lipo. Why is this? This can happen due to disruption of the nerves. The pain typically resolves but can take awhile. Best to discuss with your operating surgeon so he or she can monitor your progress. Good luck!

Answer: Burning after lipo Thanks for your question.What you are experiencing is totally normal. The burning sensation are the nerves most commonly of your sides and back awakening and healing. The pain may last several weeks to months depending on the patient and age (older patients 40+ experienced a prolonged burning sensation). It always goes away with time. Rarely do pain medications relieve the pain. Some of my patients rub/massage the areas and use lotion or even Biofreeze or icyhot over the counter remedies.Best of luck and hope it resolves quickly.Dr. T
