Post vaser lipo, and I have an indentation. How can I stop it from getting worse?

It is very common to have bruising and swelling for weeks to months after liposuction procedures. What is most important is that you follow your surgeons post operative instructions and continue compression. If you are concerned, lymphatic massage and Velashape or Venus Legacy treatments can be used to improve the swelling and help the skin tighten. My patients start treatments right away and it improves the long term results. Any indentations that are starting mean you do not have proper compression. I am very strict with my patients wearing a foam vest under and a full garment over.  I suggest you speak to your physician if you are concerned, he/she should make the ultimate decision.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is not possible to change the final outcome of liposuction by wearing certain garments or clothing. Once fat has been removed, it has permanently been removed. Any fat that is left behind is still there and cannot be changed by wearing certain clothing or compression garments. I suggest you ask your provider what he or she recommends that you wear during your recovery phase. In my practice, patients wear compression garments for two weeks and then longer only if they find them useful. My practice is almost exclusively devoted to body contouring using liposuction and fat transfer.
