Answer: Saline Implant leak presentation The usual sequence is significant decrease in volume over days, but it is possible to leak as you describe. Best recommendation is to see your plastic surgeon for a check.

Answer: Leaking saline implant So you live in plants can have a slow leak. The valve that seals off the saline and the implant can become weakened and it could weep slowly. This will lead to a gradual decrease in volume. Continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon follow his or her advice regarding this matter.

Answer: Saline implant deflation If saline implants deflate, they tend to deflate pretty fast, within a week. However, if it is a micro leak, it may take much longer. If you have not had a weight loss and your breast seems to decrease very slowly, I doubt that you will wake up one day and be totally flat. Please also know that saline is totally safe on the body and it is fairly easy to exchange your implants. If you see any sudden change, visit your PS. Best wishes.

Answer: Saline leak? It is possible you have a "micro-leak" that will slowly allow your implant to deflate. The saline should be safely absorbed by your body. If you continue to see a slow deflation/volume loss and you have not lost any significant weight, then it would be wise to visit with a board certified PS to learn more about your options. Best wishes,Dr. BasuHouston, TX

Answer: Deflation of saline implants The short answer to your question is yes. On occasion the valve of the saline implant can develop a leak which is slow rather than the more common sudden and complete leakage. Keep in mind that there is no risk to you with a deflated implant other than dealing with the assymetry before it is replaced. If it is leaking it likely will continue to get smaller. Try laying on your back and getting a photo from your feet. I find this can be most useful in looking at smaller differences in volume.
