I am a male aged 37 with skin type 1. I have had progressive poikilodermia of Civatte for the last two and a half years on sides of my neck. It got worsed over night during a summer holiday. I did use sun protection. I have both redness and brown patches. I have started with IPL treatment and I am currently on my 4 th session. Machine used is the Ellipse Nordlyse. Can not see much emprovement, but am told by my doctor to be patient. How many treatments is required for the pigmentation to fade?

I am aware that patients on Lyrica have had Rosacea treatments with lasers without deleterious effects. As such, it should be safe. Check with the treating physician.dr Karamanoukian#RealSelf100 Member
Ha shoots has no correlation with the effect of Ipl. To treat swelling use Bromelain orally two three times a day. This is pineapple enzyme and is very effective in taking away swelling.
I personally prefer to see any patient who is experiencing an unusual reaction personally. If there is swelling oral Bromelain, pineapple enzyme, two capsules three times a day can be very useful in decreasing swelling within one to two days.
