Question

I've been working out like crazy, it has reduced a bit, but is still here (see photos). I am French and realized "armpit fat" was much more discussed in the US, that's why I am asking you. I've seen a plastic surgeon yesterday who confirmed it was fat only, not breast tissue (and was surprised to see so much "local" fat on my skinny body). He said he did not know what to do... I'm desperate :( Do you think a lipo could help? Do you think having breast implants could have an impact? THX

Excision of tissue and skin in this area may be the best alternative, but an exam is always helpful to make a determination.  I
would search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel is
most likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds of
these procedures each year. I would look at patient reviews as well as

The area in question is the axillary tail of the breast. If it is substantially glandular liposuction won't help much. Excision can be done through and axillary approach. It is primarily fatty and liposuction may be all it is necessary.

Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. Typically in this area there is an element of loose skin, fat and potentially breast tissue. Excision by removal of skin and tissue through a small incision in the armpit region is typically aesthetically pleasing. You may also be a candidate for laser liposuction to remove the fat and tighten the skin. Breast Augmentation may have a positive impact by stretching the skin forward. You would need to have an examination for precise recommendations.

Women often have some accessory breast tissue in their armpits.I don't know how someone could say it is fat and have no breast tissue by physical exam.Armpits are easily liposuctioned with generally excellent results.Most women who have the same condition do have some excess skin. Liposuction is often sufficient to obtain a desirable outcome. In some cases, a small skin resection may be needed. When done correctly, it can be done without leaving a significant scar.There is a procedure code, referred to as the CPT code, for the removal of accessory breast tissue. It is possible to get insurance authorization to pay for that procedure in select cases if it causes a medical concern.Consider a second opinion.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

I have successfully improved this problem with liposuction in 3 or 4 cases,but it depends if it really due to fat and not from loose or extra skin.If the skin is loose it can be excised but that would leave a significant scar.Doubt that this will be helped at all with Breast aug
