Hello I’m a 27 year old female. Ever since I was in high school, I noticed that my forehead was wide and bones protruded out. It’s worse when I smile. I know I could get a hair transplant to hide some of it, but I worry that it won’t cover it all because it also creates horrible temporal cavities next to my eyes. I just wish I had a smooth upper face. I am highly considering a hair transplant as my hairline has always been bad and got worse after pregnancy. What can I do?
Answer: Temple filler Hi teriharlow,You can’t reduce the temple bone, but you could fill in the temporal hollow. I would start with an HA filler. See if you like the effect. If you don’t, the filler could be dissolved. If you like the effect you could consider using something more permanent, such as fat grafting, or even a silicone temporal implant. I think this is going to be your best option. Good luck!

Answer: Upper Face Contouring Hello, hope you are well. Thank you for posting your photos and questions! The areas of your forehead which appear to be protruding and that you circled in red (above the brows) are actually the frontal bone. The arrow is pointing into the temporal fossa. Based on the photos we can see here, the most straightforward approach to this issue (at least to start) would be augmenting the area of the temporal fossa--there are various minimally invasive ways of doing this. Forehead and brow bone contouring (remodeling the skull itself) is also possible, but that's a more nuanced discussion, and I would want to see your profile view and images without any 'fish eye' distortion. Best,Dr. Tower

Answer: Lowering the hairline and shaping the forehead bones Based on these photos it appears that lowering your hairline would show less of your forehead deficiencies. Moderate bone shaping can be done in the same time which will altogether significantly change current appearance. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon familiar with these procedures is recommended.

Answer: A few good options Hi Terihalrow, I deal with this all the time. First of all, you may benefit from botox to the area. It is possible you have a large bulging muscle that is making this bulge. Next, filler into the temporal hollows can also help. If neither of those is good, I'd be able to adjust the bone (if it were bone) to make it look better, but, options 1 and 2 are more likely. Best regards.
