Is it normal for Invisalign to cause jaw pain while closing my open bite? (Photo)

It is not that unusual to have some jaw discomfort at the start of treatment, and it is likely due to clenching.  Having the unfamiliar bite position due to the thickness of the aligners can trigger muscle clenching.  Tough it out for a bit.  Use Tylenol (not aspirin or ibuprophen -- they actually slow tooth movement by reducing the inflammation associated with the remodeling of the bone  that allows the teeth to move.  Some warm moist heat (hot wash cloth) applied to the jaw muscles helps.  Hot bubble bath and Chardonnay will make it better, too.  Candles....?  And, after 1100 invisalign cases, you look to be just fine to me for invisalign as the method to remake your smile.

In looking at your photos I regret to say that I think traditional ceramic braces would be a better option for you.  You have significant crowding and class II bite.  I think reproximation of your teeth to accommodate invisalign would yield a questionable result.  I recommend you switch to traditional braces.
