My face feels dry, chapped, tight, and scaly. My doctor prescribed Retin-A 0.05% for acne and scarring, and I’ve only been using it for 3 days. There’s been no new pimples or acne, but now my face feels as if it’s been sunburnt, or “wind burnt”, and is dry, peeling, itchy, and tight. any form of moisturizer (alcohol free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, sensitive skin), makes it burns even more. So I’ve been using raw Shea butter. I’m not sure if i should stop before it gets worse, or if it’s just gonna be like this for a little while?

Laser works by providing a light that the target (blood vessels, brown spots, or the water in skin) can absorb. Calcium does not absorb light in the range of medical lasers. Therefore, laser is not likely to dissolve or break the small deposits of calcium.

There are many different treatments you could look at. I recommend scheduling a consultation with a board certified provider to go over all options that are surgical and non-surgical. They could consist of products, microneedling services, thread lifts, etc.
You can get facials in conjunction with tretinoin therapy however we typically recommend stopping the tretinoin at least 5 days before most procedures to minimize the chance of an adverse reaction.I recommend you see a dermatologist in your area for further treatment options.
