Answer: 375cc hp or 400cc hp? Based on your height, weight, and starting cup size, the use of either 375cc or 400cc breast implants will provide you with a D cup or larger after your breast augmentation. The difference between the two implants is less than one ounce, so you may not see a significant difference after surgery. Thank you for sharing your question and photo. Best wishes.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Picking the right implant size before surgery Thank you for your question. The difference between a 375 and 400cc implant is so small that if a 375 were put in one side and a 400 put in the other side, you would unlikely perceive a difference. That being said, I would trust your surgeon's recommendations. I recommend the following when selecting the right implant size, profile, and shape:1.Goal photographs to demonstrate potential size and shape. This gives your surgeon an idea of “the look” you are going after.2.Trying on sizers in the office. Sizer will give a physical/PALPABLE demonstration of how the implants will change the volume of your breasts. See yourself in a full size mirror while trying on these sizers. We have tight fitting t-shirts to wear over the sizers to show how you will look with the implants.3.Using 3D imaging (offered in my office) to provide a VISUAL demonstration of how the implants will change your breasts and the look that you will likely achieve. The software is super cool (CRISALIX) and actually allows me to select the implant manufacturer and size. Be open with your surgeon and it never hurts to go back a second time with a loved one to confirm the implant size before surgery. I hope this helps.-Dr. Bryson Richards (Las Vegas Plastic Surgeon)

Answer: 375cc hp or 400cc hp? Hello! Thank you for your question. In general, implant size does not correlate with bra cup size. The cup size itself will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer as well as who is doing the actual measurements. Thus, cup size is never a reliable indicator for your breast size. I typically encourage my patients not to communicate her desires in cup size but more on the actual look and appearance. Good communication between you and your surgeon of your expectations is warranted - choosing your surgeon wisely is the first step. Discussion of your wishes and having an honest and open dialog of your procedure is mandatory (e.g, implant type, incision, placement, lift, etc). I have found that photographs brought by the patient is helpful to get a visualization of the appearance you wish for in terms of size, shape, fullness, etc. In addition, your surgeon's pre and postoperative photographs should demonstrate a realistic goal for you. Preoperative sizing and sizer options is sometimes helpful, if you are able. Once this has been accomplished, allow your surgeon to utilize his/her best medical judgment during the procedure to finesse the best possible result for you after preoperative biodimensional planning and fitting the right implant for your breast width. The implants you mention are on the larger side for you, especially with the high profile projection. However, it is difficult to give recommendations without an examination and measurements along with not knowing your desired shape/goals. I would discuss this with your surgeon so that both of you are on the same page in terms of your wishes and outcome. Given your photo, I would expect an excellent result for you. The 25cc difference would be a minimal appreciable difference - the more important factor is your breast width and skin laxity. Hope me that this helps! Best wishes for a wonderful result!

Answer: 375 vs 400cc You are not the only person who has trouble deciding on sizes that are only 25cc different. There is not much difference between the two. Imaging technology is one way to see an approximation of what the result might be, but trying on the actual sizes of the implants is another tool that is helpful in my practice. All this said, if you are worried about being too big, then a smaller implant may look more natural. You can ask your surgeon to explain some of these details to you, but they are all dependent on several individual factors about your anatomy. Best wishes.

Answer: 375cc hp or 400cc hp? There is very little difference cosmetically between the 2 implant sizes. The best cosmetic result in any particular breast augmentation patient depends on a variety of factors, including: Your individual anatomy, realistic expectations, a thorough discussion with the plastic surgeon about the options, and an understanding of the pros and cons of any particular implant choice. Proper sizing is not just about the number of cc’s. The thickness of your tissue, breastdimensions which include the width, height, and projection, as well as chest wall width all need to be considered when choosing an implant. Trying on implant “sizers” of various shapes and volumes while wearing a tight t-shirt, bra, or bathing sit at a preoperative visit will help you and your surgeon choose the optimal implant. There are no manufacturers' standards for cup sizing in the bra industry. The cups of a 32 C-D and a 36 C-D are significantly different. Cup size varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and even within styles from any particular manufacturer. Nor is there a direct correlation between implant shape or size and cup size. Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest that your plastic surgeon be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
