Butt Lift and Skin Tightening Without Scars?

Let's break this down into 2 issues:  volume and skin laxity.  So volume in the buttock can be achieved with implants, fat graft or rearrangement of your own buttock/back tissue during a traditional buttlift.  Obviously a butt lift has the downside of the scar but can rearrange your own tissue internally and add volume to the buttock area.  Brazilian butt lift success hinges equally on the need to sculpt the waist and the need to transfer that fat into the buttock region.   This corrects two areas of the body however you need to be a candidate for the procedure.  Buttock implants are another option to create volume and shape to the buttock region.   Buttock implants will also fill the skin with added volume and the skin will feel tighter. 


Now let's discuss how to correct skin laxity.  Skin laxity can be corrected with surgery by lifting the skin and cutting off the extra and trading that extra skin for a scar.  Non- surgical skin tighting options include external energey devices.  In our office we use two options:  Skin Tyte and Ulthera.  Skin Tyte uses light energy and does tighten skin to some degree.  Ulthera creates micro pulsed ultra sound energy under the skin and also does tighten the skin and the underlying tissue to some degree.  Both options are performed without a knife and therefore tighten tissue without scar.  The tradeoff on the non- surgical options is that the tightening effect can be limited and hard to document.  In our office I will frequently price the procedures appropriately so patients do not feel like they have paid a steep price for something that only have limited effect.  It is rare that a patient is disappointed and says they feel no difference after the skin and the underlying tissue had time to remodel and tighten. 

The appearance of loose skin in the buttocks is the result of either too much skin or too little volume.  The easiest solution is often to just remove the extra skin.  As you mentioned, though, this will likely lead to the appearance of long scars.  If you do not remove the extra skin, the next option is to increase the volume to fill the loose skin.  This can be done by either adding fat or an implant.  If you are a poor liposuction candidate, then I would recommend implants.  In the case of implants, the scars can be hidden in between the buttocks cheeks.  This sounds like it would be the best option in your case.  Good luck!

A Brazilian butt lift is the best technique for lifting and enlarging a buttocks with minimal scarring. It requires that you have enough fat to use from other areas of your body.  It also requires adequate skin laxity.

Your plastic surgeon is correct. If you are not a candidate for liposuction then butt lift surgery does leave noticeable scars. Only fat transfer, Brazilian Butt Lift,  leaves minuscule scars at the lipoinjection sites

For certian areas of lax buttock skin, mostly the infragluteal fold, endolaser (or "Smartlipo") can be benefical.

I like to add this as the "final touch" in butt shaping surgery, but of course the retraction is limited.

At certain problem spots it can help if there is no other alternative, but it can under no circumstances replace a butt lift.

Thabk you for your question. Unfortunately, your plastic surgeon is correct that a traditional butt lift leaves you with an unsightly scar. Your best option would be to have a Brazilian Butt Lift.

There are doctors who will inject dermal fillers, but the results are not long lasting. There are unapproved permanent fillers that have been popularized on social media, but I would recommend that you avoid them like the plague. They do not integrate well with your body tissues and I have seen them drop buttocks to look like a wet diaper over time.

A Brazilian Butt Lift consists of removing fat from one area of the body and transferring it to another area with liposuction and lipo injection.  The scars are very small and not noticeable once healed.  This would fill out loose skin and provide volume to the buttocks.

The only way to the reshape the buttocks is either through fat grafting, gluteal implants or an excision of excess skin. Considering that you're not a liposuction candidate the fat grafting option is not available. Excision of excess skin of the buttocks results in a lengthy incision along the top of the buttock region. Placement of gluteal implants also requires incision with some scarring. It would be best to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon skilled in all types of gluteal reshaping.
