How likely is retention for an open-bite treated with braces and rubber bands for adult? (Photo)

Hello. I have a mild open-bite. I also have tongue thrusting. My dad had an open-bite. Did top braces and headgear when teen, but did not wear retainer and went through huge growth spurt. Thinking of braces with rubber bands (suggested by ortho), permanent top & bottom retainers, and tongue therapy. People say open bites tend to open back up. Any idea on the stats of this? From my research, I found that 70-80% of people have good retention. Is that true? Should I even try? Please help!
