Nose bridge filler with restylane. Should I be concerned about the bruising on my eye?

Any time you inject anything
into the skin you can get bruising…especially if you are on anything that thins
your blood like aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E etc. If the bruise is
painful or mottled you need to go back in and make sure you don’t have a
vascular occlusion – which is a bit more common for nasal fillers. I love
reforming the nose with fillers and it often saves someone from doing a
rhinoplasty, but I am always watching for that unwanted side effect – and it’s
more likely in someone with a previous rhinoplasty (nose job).

Thanks for your question. Bruising following fillers can happen, as with anything injected into the skin. I wonder why the touch-up was done so quickly following the first injection, as the original filler probably still had not time to fully settle. As noted, bruising is normal, but as noted by Dr. Kilmer, we always wonder about vascular occlusion, so if it does not resolve quickly, return to your injector for further evaluation.

Bruising and swelling are always possibilities after injections of any fillers (e.g. Juvederm, Restylane). The incidence of bruising is generally no different between fillers, but more based on knowing the anatomy, speed of injection, area injected, and luck, The bruising near your eye should disappear within about a week or so, just like any other area of bruising.
