Infection worsened 2 weeks ago, and noticed redness around incision and pain had increased tremendously. An abscess had formed that busted open in the shower. Severe plasma leakage. My PS prescribed antibiotic for infection and said it just needed to continue to drain. A whole remains that has been draining steadily for 2 weeks. The pain comes and goes. How long is normal for it to drain? How long before it closes? Is all this pain normal? Should something else be done to aid with healing?
