Hi, I had went for a BA for a bigger size. I had a 3d vectra done to determine what would look right on me. I went with moderate profile of 510cc saline implants. I weigh 125lbs, 5'1, and I do have wide hips. I wanted something to go with my frame. So I would want to be a small D in size.
Answer: Breast Implant Sizing The exact choice of size that will work best for you is an important decision that you should make with your board certified plastic surgeon. 3D Vectra imaging and simulation, the Mentor gel sizing system, rice filled implants at home in your bra, and bio-dimensional analysis are all methods that can be employed to help you come to a decision. Because size is such an important component of decision making in breast augmentation our office employs all of these techniques with each patient to ensure the highest rate of satisfaction possible. Good luck with your decision!

Answer: 510cc a small D? Dear Breasia,That size implant will likely make you larger than a small D cup, especially with what appears to be B cup breasts already. Also, you seem to have very tight skin and might not accept an implant that large comfortably. Good luck!

Answer: Implant size to use Based on your pictures, I think that 510 cc's would be too big on your frame, especially with a moderate profile type implant. It will probably wrap around into your armpit! I don't particularly like video imaging. I think that you can do lots of things on a computer that you may not be able to replicate in real life. If you have questions, I think your best bet is to get a second (maybe even a third) opinion with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can examine you in person and discuss your options with you. That way, you can get differing perspectives. This is an important decision so spend your time, do your research, and get it right the first time.

Answer: Implant size - Would 510cc be too large? The best cosmetic result in any particular breast augmentation patient depends on a variety of factors, including: Your individual anatomy, realistic expectations, a thorough discussion with the plastic surgeon about the options, and an understanding of the pros and cons of any particular implant choice. Proper sizing is not just about the number of cc’s. The thickness of your tissue, breast dimensions which include the width, height, and projection, as well as chest wall width all need to be considered when choosing an implant. Trying on implant “sizers” of various shapes and volumes while wearing a tight t-shirt, bra, or bathing sit at a preoperative visit will help you and your surgeon choose the optimal implant. There are no manufacturers' standards for cup sizing in the bra industry. The cups of a 32 D and a 38 D are significantly different. Cup size varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and even within styles from any particular manufacturer. There is also no direct correlation between an implant size or shape and resultant cup size. Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest that your plastic surgeon be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
