I'm really worried because I have a chalazion on my lower eyelid near the tear duct, basically on the waterline of the eye, and if I have to have surgery to remove it is it possible to get hypertrophic scars/ keloids there? Because I'm really prone to having those and I don't want one on my eyes!

This is normal. Everyone has a "big eye" and a "small eye" It may increase as you age. It can be exacerbated by ptosis or drooping of the upper eyelid. This could be corrected with blepharoplasty surgery.
