After much research I decided to go for a lower face/neck lift and you can see the results were brutal. I developed a massive hematoma within 3 hours of coming out of surgery so 4 hours later I was back in for another 2 1/2 hour surgery to stop the bleeding. The Dr. said it was all my fault because I was too anxious? Is there anything you can suggest besides a full redo as I don't know mentally if I can do it again, but if I do, do you have any suggestions for a competent Dr. in Western Canada.
Answer: Neck lift revision Thank you for your question. I wish I have a better news for you but the only solution to your problem that will give a good result be a revision of the face and neck. Any other more limited treatment will only disappointed you so set your expectation very clear with the surgeon

Answer: What can I possibly do with this botched face/neck lift surgery? It does not appear that you've had any improvement in the neck whatsoever, therefore a Comprehensive lower face and neck lift will be required. In our practice, the goal of a lower face and neck lift is to tighten loose facial and neck skin, tighten loose facial and neck muscles, lift the jowls, and remove any fatty deposits in the neck, in addition to a platysma-plasty.

Answer: What can I possibly do with this botched surgery, I look worse two years later than I did before I got the surgery? (Photos) Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Based on the degree of skin and muscle laxity seen in your pictures I think only a revision surgery will afford you the results you are most interested in achieving. Hope this helps.

Answer: Revision facelift Hello and thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear about your previous experience and hematoma. Based on your photographs and skin laxity, you may benefit from a revision mini facelift with a neck lift. If good technique is used, this can be done with minimal scarring and can result in a natural look, not over-done look, with rejuvenation of your face and neck. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Complications and results after face/neck surgery. I am sorry to hear about your bed experience with face/neck lift surgery. Unfortunately, hematoma happens in around 1% patients undergoing this surgery even in most experienced hands. To take patient to surgery immediately after hematoma is discovered, to control bleeding and prevent immediate life threatening and/or long term consequences, is standard of practice in case of such a complication. Your before and after photos do not show much of the difference and for that reason you will need a new face and neck lift. Face and neck lift is not a standard procedure which every board certified plastic surgeon can do with similar result and for that reason selection of an experienced board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in this type of surgery is recommended. It may be worth of doing good research and traveling in order to achieve predictable and stable result. Good luck.
