Eyelid scars usually heal nicely

Andrew J.L. Gear, MD answers: Silicone gel for eye bag removal scarring

I had an upper and lower eye bag removal 6 weeks ago. Now I have a visible scar below my right lower eyelash. My surgeon gave me a silcone gel and said to see him again in 3 months. Will this silcone gel sort the problem out?

As has been previously stated, scars involving the eyelids generally heal inconspicously. You have to remember that surgically created scars go through a natural maturation process that takes time, and the appearance of your scar will thus change.

I have not heard of anyone using Silicone on eyelid scars, but there is no reason you cannot. Silicone, for unknown reasons, causes scars to potentially become finer. As has been stated previously, be careful with application of the gel.
