Accutane for Pimples and Blackheads?

I am a 57 year old female who has acne since age 12. They were never large cystic acne, but pimples and blackheads. My dermatologist prescribed Accutane. I read on this site that it doesn't help my type of acne. I would like a second opinion.

Accutane for pimples

Accutane will help with inflamed (red) pimples, nodules, cysts, even pustules.  The one form of acne that Accutane is not very good for is comedones (whiteheads and blackheads).  This form of acne is best managed with acne surgery (manual extraction by your physician or an esthetician). Good luck.
